A possibility is a small number in design mode.
Unlike candidates, all the visible possibilities can be true. Possibilities only appear when a puzzle does not have a unique solution. For puzzles with multiple possible solutions, multiple different possibilities can exist, none of which contradict any sudoku rules.
Sudoku Snake does not employ all solving techniques whenever a change is made. Thus, there is a very rare chance that a visible possibility may not be an actual possibility. To test this, simply fill in the possibility as a given, and see if the puzzle goes automatically from 'multiple solutions' to 'no solution.' If this is the case, it is not an actual possibility.
