Easter Monster was created by JPF (user name on the Sudoku Forums by Pappocom Sudoku) in April of 2007 and was hailed in its time as one of the world's hardest puzzles. Much study was performed on Easter Monster, even by Sudoku Snake. As a result of this study Sudoku Snake discovered the solving techniques Naked Double Loops and Hidden Double Loops. With naked double loops employed Easter Monster becomes much easier, though still extremely difficult to solve.
